Dead of Winter Campout
February 3rd -5th, 2012

Peach State Transporters will be holding its annual Dead of Winter
Campout at Cloudland Canyon State Park in the northwest Georgia
mountains on the weekend of February 3-5, 2012.

"Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, this is one of
the most scenic parks in the state, offering rugged geology and
beautiful vistas. The park straddles a deep gorge cut into the
mountain by Sitton Gulch Creek, and elevation differs from 800 to
1,980 feet."

Scenic hikes include a canyon rim trail, and a trail into the gorge
featuring views of two waterfalls. Camp sites include water and
electricity, so don't forget to bring a space heater. And, of course,
firewood. Lots and lots of firewood.

We're doing a potluck supper on Saturday night, so please bring
your favorite recipie
and join us.

Directions: 122 Cloudland Canyon Park Road, Rising Fawn, Georgia,
30738, located on
Georgia Route 136, 8 miles east of Trenton and I-59, and 18 miles west
of LaFayette.

True Canadian Winter Bus Campout
February 18th -19th, 2012
Event Photo
Location: Valens Conservation area, just North of Hamilton Ontario
The date is set: February 18th, 2012 will be the Ninth Annual
True Canadian Winter Bus Campout. We've done this eight times already,
and there's no sign of stopping any time soon.

Dig out your mothballed camping gear, pile it into your bus, and come
out for a weekend of the most fun you never thought possible!! Really,
it's not that difficult, as the campground has serviced sites with hydro
and the washrooms are close by with flush toilets and showers. We make
the most of the long winter night with a big campfire and a lot of
snacks and beverages to share.

The cost for camping is $39/night for fees; be sure to get there before
7PM or the gate may not be staffed. If you can contribute (locally
sourced) firewood, please do.

Visit the website for more details, and links to pictures of past campouts:

because True Canadians
can't wait until summer to go camping.
