Very good info, thanks. One thing I'd like to add about bodyfillers. Bondo is a brand name. If you are buyng bodyfiller at Wal Mart, Pep Boys, etc. you are buying CRAP. To get decent stuff you need to go to an auto body supply shop, or maybe check online for a supplier. I have used Claussen "Claw Glass" for years. It is waterproof and very strong. I've never had it bubble up on me, even years later.

I have found that wheel bearing grease applied externally to seam rust and renewed anually will keep the rust in check permanently. It turns black and actually doesn't look to bad in the seam. Grease is very penetrating and seems to get right into the seam,
